 X-Men Days Of Future Past

Genre

X-Men Days Of Future Past (2014) Fits into the future and mutation sub-genre of sci-fi genre. The narrative of going back to the past suggests time travel and the fact that most of the characters are supernatural suggests mutation.

Key Conventions

The music at the beginning of the trailer suggests a dramatic opening and shows that the story may be about a death/end of something or someone. Furthermore, the shot of storm controlling the weather shows that the element of the movie is superhero/supernatural. Moreover, the use of the dark and dull colours throughout the trailer show a significance to the sci-fi genre. When Mr.X states 'I had a glimpse into the past' suggests time travel as he is stating that he has seen the past.

Target Audience

The fact that the rating of the movie is a 12A shows that it may be targeted for the age and above however this is seen as a superhero film so I think that this may also be targeted to younger audiences. Furthermore this is clearly targeted mostly to men as most of the main characters are men however there are some aspects of women in the movie so there is a small percentage of it being targeted to women. In my opinion I would suggest that the age rating would be a 10-40 excluding the fact of it being a 12A.

Terminator Genisys

Genre

Terminator Genisys (2015) fits into the advanced technology sub-genre as they are using this advanced technology to create robots with the features of humans. Onwards , this may also fit into the mutation genre as the robots begin to develop more instincts and are able to heal themselves as the trailer progresses.

Key Conventions 

The first scene of the movie shows that there is a war about to begin and the use of the music suggests drama and war to take place. Moreover into the trailer, one of the characters enters a time machine so this is seen as a key convention.

Target audience

In my opinion I would suggest that the target audience may be those who have seen the whole trilogy as they would understand this movie, furthermore I would suggest that the age rating for this would be a 12-40 and mostly male as they are the types that enjoy futuristic movies.

                                     Jurassic World

Genre

I would suggest that Jurassic world would go into the sci-fi sub genre of experimental science as they use the equipment that they have created to make these re-tellings of time.

Key Conventions

I would suggest that the fact that there is dinosaurs in it shows that one of its key conventions is dinosours and furthermore there is an element of action and thriller to the movie when the dinosours go out of control.

Target audience

In my opinion I think this movie would be amed below 10 howver the rating is a 12A, this would suggest that there is many scenes that some children may find scary or disturbing for example when the dinosaurs try to fight back and take over.

6. Kingsman appealed the audience as there was many fighting scenes and funny clips that made the audience laugh and Eastenders appealed the audience as it created tension because of the extended use of drama.
